Scott McLucas, Minister

Born July 21, 1965 in Wilmington Delaware. Moved to San Jose, California in
June of 1971. Moved back to Delaware in January of 1980. Graduated from
Alexis I. DuPont High School in June of 1983. Attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and graduated with a B.B.A. in Finance
in May of 1987. Attended Wake Forest University from August of 1994 until
May of 1996 when I graduated with an M.B.A. I was a volunteer leader with Young Life in the late 80's and early 90's and he has remained an active committee member ever since. I also have formal training through Reformed Theological Seminary. Worked for Allstate Insurance Company for ten years.
Held numerous management positions in Operations before moving to Sales
Management. Changed careers in May of 1997 when I became the Administrative
Pastor for the Church of the Holy Spirit in Roanoke, Virginia. In March of
2002 I became the Senior Pastor of CHS’ first church plant in Botetourt
County, Virginia. I am married to Carolyn and we have four children;
Andrew, Alan, Mary Kathryn, and Lindsey.

Mike Moffitt, Pastor of Discipleship [mike@chsorchardhills.com]
Born in August of 1954 in Roanoke, Mike spent his early years in the Valley where he graduated from William Fleming High School in 1972. He married Teresa Kelley in May 1973 and now have two grown children Amy and Benjamin. Mike gave his life to Christ at 17 years of age and has sought His wisdom and will for his life for many years. Though he has worked in the private sector all of his life, it became clear to Mike and those who knew him that God was calling him to full time ministry. His passion is to have an ever deepening relationship with Jesus Christ and to help others do the same.

Bryan "Mo" Morrell, Minister to Students

Bryan “Mo” was born in Cherry Point, North Carolina but grew up mainly in the Northern Virginia town of Warrenton. Mo is the second of four children with an older brother and two younger sisters. Mo graduated from Fauquier High School in 1998 and then spent the next four years at Virginia Tech. While getting a degree in Human Services and Psychology, Mo began volunteering with the outreach organization Young Life at Christiansburg High school. After completing his four year tenure at Virginia Tech, Mo felt called to full time mission work with Young Life. During his time on staff with Young Life, Mo began his theological training at Fuller Seminary where he continues working on his Masters of Theology degree. Mo took a short break from full time mission work this past year while he did construction work and waited to see where God would lead him next. Mo is extremely excited about the opportunity to work with the students at Church of the Holy Spirit Orchard Hills and is looking forward to seeing how the Lord will use him in his new role.

Stephanie Morrell, Director of Children's Ministries

Stephanie was born in Dallas, Texas but grew up mainly in Pearland, Texas, a suburb of Houston. Stephanie is the last of three children with two older brothers. She graduated from Pearland High School in 1995 and then spent the next four years at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. While getting a degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in music, Stephanie began volunteering with several different children’s and youth ministries. After completing her four-year degree, she taught elementary school for four years while she volunteered with her church youth groups. During this time Stephanie began to feel led to work full-time with teenage girls. In 2003, the Lord moved her to Roanoke, Virginia to work at the inner city ministry, The Acts 2 Ministry, where she mentored and discipled teenage girls. This ministry is partnered with Young Life where Stephanie met Mo and fell in love. June 2006 they were married and she moved to Botetourt County. Stephanie is excited to be working with the children and adult volunteers at Orchard Hills. She has a passion for people to know the love of God and share it!

I am a native of the Roanoke Valley, having grown up in the Salem area and graduated from Northside High School. I have two children, Laurie Loope-Miller, who lives with her husband Chris in Dumfries (Northern Virginia) and Jeffrey, who lives in Roanoke with his wife Amber. I was married 37 wonderful years to my husband Jimmy, who has passed to be with our Lord. I am a member of Bonsack Baptist Church where I am active in the choir and serve in the Nursery. Many different interests keep me busy including crafting, sewing, gardening and walking as well as taking care of my family and my little cat, Pepper, and my Shar-pei puppy, Riley. I come to Church of the Holy Spirit Orchard Hills with many years of office experience having worked in the banking industry for several years as well as Roanoke City Schools for ten years and Rubatex Corporation for six years. Most recently I was employed as Recruitment and Retention Coordinator for Home Instead Senior Care, before coming to work at Orchard Hills.
